He was predeceased by: his parents, Herald Bohon Purdom and Julia "June" Mason Dyer Purdom; and his grandparents, Darius and Betty Dyer. He is survived by: his wife Jo Frances Purdom; his son Dan, Jr.; his daughter-in-law Amy Purdom of Staunton, VA; his daughters, Laura Purdom of Northport, ME and Mary Sarah Stout of San Francisco, CA; his grandchildren, Ben Purdom of Vinton, VA, Sam Purdom of Truckee, CA and Kirby Purdom; and his daughter-in-law Iskeyla Purdom of Tampa, FL.
