David C. Whitesell Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of David C. Whitesell of Staunton, Virginia, who passed away on April 17, 2026 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond William and Charlotte Estelle Griffin Whitesell; and his siblings, Hansford Lee, Ward Gay Whitesell and Phyllis Darlene Whitesell Gill.
He is survived by: his children, Reverend David Whitesell II of Staunton, Penny King of Staunton, Greg Whitesell (Jamie) of Staunton and Robin Winn of Staunton; his sister-in-law Sondra Whitesell; the mother of his children Mary Whitesell; his brother Jerry Griffin; and his pet Burly. He is also survived by his ten grandchildren; and his one great-grandchild.
A graveside service was held on Friday, April 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Augusta Memorial Park (1775 Old Goose Crk Rd, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
