She was predeceased by: her parents, Thurman Lester Fitzgerald and Ethel Mae Flickinger (Benson); and her siblings, Sheila Mae Roberts, Judy Eiline Hughes, Marvin Fitzgerald, Leslie Flickinger, Jr. and Robert "Bobby" Flickinger.
She is survived by: her husband Ronald Barry Gilbert of Staunton; her children, Ronald Wayne Gilbert of Staunton and Karen Kay Varner of Staunton; her siblings, Felita Sanchez of Staunton and James "Jimmy" Flickinger of Stuarts Draft; her grandchildren, Amy Rankin, Ricky Rankin, Caleb Gilbert and Gracelyn Gilbert; and her great grandchildren, Richard Williams, Blaine Eggleston and Owen Rankin.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 28th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christ United Methodist Church (1512 Churchville Ave, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial will be held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 at the Oaklawn Memory Gardens (1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton, VA 24401).
