It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Emory Garland Harris of Staunton, Virginia, who passed away on May 27, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Brown "E. B." Harris and Ida Harris (Dressler); his wife Dorothy Harris (Woodell); his son Glenn Edward Harris; and his sister Josephine Paulas (Harris).
He is survived by: his children, Gary Harris (Shereen) of Staunton, VA and Barbara Allen (Jimmy) of Waynesboro, VA; his granddaughter Coty Lyle (Brad); his great grandchildren, Lux, Finley and Virginia; and his granddaughter Rachel Gallaugher (Ian). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the McDow Funeral Home (1701 W Main St, Waynesboro, VA 22980). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Riverview Cemetery (420 Rosser Ave, Waynesboro, VA 22980).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Dementia Society of America, 188 N. Main Street, Doylestown, PA 18901.
