We announce the death of Katherine Irene (Livezey) Crouse of Staunton, Virginia, who passed away on August 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Katherine will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Katherine will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Katherine will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Katherine’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her husband Boyd Edward Crouse of Staunton; her parents, Joseph Livzey and Verna Trusler; and her son David Edward Crouse. She is survived by: her children, Rex Crouse of Staunton, Terry Crouse (Daphine) of Waynesboro and Debra Fields of Staunton; and her brothers, Stanley Livzey of Maryland and Johnny Trusler of Newport News. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 26th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Thornrose Cemetery (1041 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401).
