She was predeceased by: her husband Charlie; her parents, Sherman Lee Bright and Sarah Lena Brown Bright; her son Sam Cook of Stuarts Draft; and her siblings, Goldie, Hester, Joanna, Virginia, Homer, Arthur, Stanley, Richard, Annie, Pauline, Paul, Lester, Ethel and Mary.

She is survived by: her siblings-in-law, Lola Bright of New York and Fred Cook of Churchville; her children, Julie Cook of Stuarts Draft, Charles Lewis Cook III (Chip) of Verona, Scott (Helen Cook), David (Janet Cook) and Robin Painter of Stuarts Draft; her grandchildren, Sam Cook (Keri) of Stuarts Draft, Jessica Baker of Evans, Shaun Baker (Alexis) of Summerville and Hope Cook of McLean; her great grandchildren, Dylan, Devin Baker of Evans and Hailey Cook of Stuarts Draft; and her friend Steve Lawhorne. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
