She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Lee Welcher and Thelma Virginia Welcher (King); her husband Conley Marvin Fridley; her daughter Shirley Stokes Clark; her grandsons, Carl Ernest Whitlock, Jr. and Boyd Thomas Lambert, Jr.; and her siblings, Cecil Welcher, Lorraine Thornton and Lula Virginia "Toots" Shifflette.
She is survived by: her daughters, Brenda Johnson, Barbara Whitlock (Carl), Wanda Botkin (Lorne), Judy Clifton (Ricky) and Darlene Curry (Gary); her grandchildren, Michele, Teresa, Joy, Lisa, Christopher, Dwayne, Jimmy, Tausha, Jason, Nick and Ricky; and her sisters, Juanita Wilcher, Elsie Robertson and Jane Cale.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 9th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A celebration of life was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial was held on Thursday, July 10th 2025 at the Oaklawn Memory Gardens (1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton, VA 24401).
