Ray Matthew Pitsenbarger Obituary
With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Ray Matthew Pitsenbarger of Staunton, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Ray left this world on October 19, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Roosevelt Pitsenbarger and Rachel Vaiden Rexrode; his former wife Jerry Frances Pitsenbarger (Hash); his wife Joan Bridges Pitsenbarger (Clark); his brother Dennis Stover Pitsenbarger; and his grandson Michael Ray Pitsenbarger.
He is survived by: his sons, David A. Pitsenbarger (Kim) of Warner Robins, GA and Gary M. Pitsenbarger (Jennifer) of Staunton; his stepson Ricky Clark (Jane) of Homer, IL; his sisters, Thelma Jean Thompson of Maysville, WV and Wilma Rexrode of Franklin, WV; his pet Suzie; and his caregivers, Destynie Martz, Sarah Bennett and Shirley Hagerman. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home Chapel (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A burial will be held on Monday, October 27th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Fox Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
