He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Brown and Fannie Ruth Ryder (Spencer). He is survived by: his son Shannon Ryder of Parnassus; his sister Beverly; his brother-in-law Jerry Van Lear; and his nieces, Wendy Saylor and Heather Davis.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 23rd 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory (230 Frontier Dr, Staunton, VA 24401). A graveside service was held on Monday, August 24th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Oaklawn Mausoleum and Memory Gardens (1921 Shutterlee Mill Rd, Staunton, VA 24401).
