He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Thomas and Helen Marie Truss Nelson; and his siblings, Floyd "Eddie" Edward Nelson, Earl Nelson, Rosetta Mae Nelson Williams and Sarah Frances Nelson Thomas.
He is survived by: his children, Thomas, Samuel Isaiah Nelson and Danielle Nelson; his brother Anthony "Tony" Nelson (Dawn); and his close friend Gloria Booker. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Henry Funeral Home (1030 W Beverley St, Staunton, VA 24401). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 5th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
