He was predeceased by: his parents, William Percy, Jr. and Eula Mae Organ Garland; and his sisters, Terrie Lavelle Garland and Sylvia Jean Garland Breckenridge (Frank). He is survived by: his children, Nicole McCarthy, William Donnell Garland II and Amanda McCarthy; his grandchildren, Grace McCarthy, Tyquasha Weaver, Kenya Irvin, Akil Jennings and Kamal McCarthy; his siblings, Patricia Mae Garland Gray, Olivia Kay Garland Ross (Brian) and Anthony "Poe" Smith (Denise); and his uncle Samuel Organ. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
