She was predeceased by: her parents, Lloyd Ambrose Hurt, Sr. and Lina Marion Nicholson Hurt; and her siblings, Edith Fay Shirley and Lloyd A. Hurt, Jr.. She is survived by: her husband John David Petrie, Sr.; her children, John D. Petrie II (Carol) of Stephens City, VA, Andrew C. Petrie (Wendy) of Cross Junction, VA and Jennifer Vann (Michael) of Lake Frederick, VA; her pet Tupelo; her grandchildren, Justin Petrie (Annaliese), Jeremy Petrie, Hannah Petrie, Morgan Petrie and Jordan Petrie; and her sister-in-law Sue Grim.
