It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Gochenour (Stephenson, Virginia), who passed away on March 5, 2026, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Victor Wheeler and Ruth Wheeler; her husband Bill Gochenour; and her sisters, Barbara Hart and Carolyn Jenkins.
She is survived by: her sons, David Gochenour (Genoa) and Tommy Gochenour (Tara); her grandchildren, Melinda of Nick, TJ, Charlie and Jack; and her great grandchild Brett.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Patricia was honored on October 23, 1987, as the Virginia Council for the Social Studies Northern Region's Teacher of the Year.
