It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sara Mae Eckel in Sterling, Virginia, who passed away on June 30, 2023, at the age of 105, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Sara Mae Eckel to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Coryell Probst and Leda Probst (Rudolph); her brother Coryell Robert Probst; and her son-in-law Alfred Joseph Velt. She is survived by : her spouse Ammon E. Eckel; her daughter Sally Lee Velt (Eckel); her grandchildren, Tanya Gossett, Gregory Velt (Christina) and Geoffrey Velt (Jill); her grandson-in-law K. Dean Gossett; and her great grandchildren, Aidan of Virginia, Alfred Gossett (AJ) of Virginia, Hannah of Virginia and Olivia Velt of Virginia.

Donations in Sara Mae's honor may be made to the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1100 Huron Avenue, Renovo, PA, 17764 or the North Bend United Methodist Church, 41 Main St, North Bend, PA 17760.
