He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Lewis Vance, Sr. and Florence Virginia Strosnider Vance; his daughter Teresa Joan Vance Stevens; and his siblings, Walter L. Vance, Jr., Sue Vance Cornwell, Eva Vance Elbon, Roy G. Vance, Betty Vance Middleton and Donald H. Vance.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Joan McIlwee Vance; his grandson Joshua Stevens; his son-in-law Alan Stevens; and his sister Mary Vance Paige (Howard). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephew and cousins.
