He was predeceased by : his parents, Vivian Girard and Ida Mabel Golliday Smith; his daughter Guida Gay Kumalae; his grandson Jerad Feathers; his great grandchild Shawn Feathers; and his brothers, Edward Melvin "Buddy" Smith, Lloyd Bradford Smith and Paul Kenneth Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Delphia Mae Arnold Smith; and his daughters, Wilma Lee Boyce, Sherry Dawn Blanchard and Lisa Katherine Wise. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
