With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Anthony Ray Penn of Stuart, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 8, 2025 at the age of 67. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dee Penn and Barbara J. Hagwood Reynolds; and his sister Jenny Penn. He is survived by: his children, Nancy Hairston of High Point, NC, Katrenna Redd of Salisbury, NC, Jessica Thomas of Spencer, VA, Tony Thomas of Roanoke, VA, Courtney Nowlin (Casey) of Stuart, VA and Kelly Johnson of Greensboro, NC; his grandchildren, Kalab Redd, Alisa Redd, Treveion Grant, Deja Thomas and Trae Nowlin; his brother Sean Reynolds (Kimberly) of Patrick Springs, VA; his stepfather Julius Reynolds of Stuart, VA; his nephew Kiran Penn; his great-niece Anita Green; and his grandchild Kamaury Hylton. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was held on Monday, September 15th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the C. R. V. Memorial Chapel at Hairston Funeral Home (301 Fayette St, Martinsville, VA 24112).
