He was predeceased by: his parents, Grady Adkins and Bertha Lillard Adkins; his sons, Booker Adkins, Jr. and Jody Adkins; his granddaughter Hailey Adkins; and his brothers, Robert Callahan, Jimmy Adkins and Archie Adkins.
He is survived by: his wife Mary "Opalene" Adkins; his son Donnie Adkins (Amy); his grandchildren, Dylan Henderson, Jody Jr. Adkins and Katelyn Adkins; and his close friend Earl Penn. He is also survived by extended family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Bassett Funeral Service (3665 Fairystone Park Hwy, Bassett, VA 24055).
