She was predeceased by: her parents, Willie Bryon Bateman and Rose Agnes Robertson Bateman; her former husband Steven Tony Turner; her husband James Douglas Kirkman; and her siblings, Lucille Parks and Jack Bateman.

She is survived by: her sons, James Turner (Jing Jia Turner) of Bassett and Roger Bryon Turner of Stuart; her grandchildren, Ron Eugene Turner of Winston Salem, James S. Turner, Jr. of Bassett, Steven Turner of Detroit, MaryKate Turner of Winston Salem, Kelly Turner of Detroit and Ceri Elizabeth Turner of London, England; and her sister Marie Stone of Sanville. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
