He was predeceased by: his parents, Avery Marshall Banks and Elsie Gertrude Webb Banks; and his siblings, Carlene Charnock, Maxene Fix, Thelma Morris and Thomas Banks.

He is survived by: his wife Mary Bunn Banks; and his children, Marshall Banks (Jeanne), Selina Angle (Michael) and Garland Banks (Lynn). He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
