She was predeceased by: her parents, Noel Vaughn and Dorothy Stedman McDaniel; her husband James Douglas Shelton; and her brother Mike Vaughn. She is survived by: her daughters, Nellie "Shannie" Shelton Jessup of Stuart and Melody Shelton Hutchens (Joey) of Temperanceville, VA; her grandchildren, James Kary Jessup, Lilly Sofia Jessup, Chessie Shoemaker Turner, Layla Shoemaker, Sadie Shoemaker, Patrick Russell and Joella Hutchens; her brother Gary Vaughn (Elaine) of Stuart; her sister-in-law Catheryn Vaughn of Stuart; her half-sister Jeannie Martin Howard of Tennessee; her caregiver Judy Hale; and her close friend Sandra Halsey Wood.
She was very caring and would do anything for the people she loved including displaying a kind heart to the people in the community whether it be visits or donations to the less fortunate.
