He was predeceased by: his parents, O. E. Shouse Jr. and Helen K. Shouse; his parents-in-law, Sidney and Sarah Jones; his brother Tim Shouse; and his brothers-in-law, Leon Jones and Junior Jones.

He is survived by: his wife Patsy Shouse; his children, Holly Williams (Warren) of Stuart, Lea S. Love (Joey) of Mount Airy, Andy Shouse (Shelia) of Stuart and Jacob Shouse of Waverly, Virginia; his grandchildren, Wren Williams (Britt) of Stuart, Rachel Williams of New York, Katie Cox (Zack) of Charlottesville, Virginia, Ceanna, Caraleah and Emsley Love of Mount Airy; his stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Walker (Clint), Teresa Cochran (Ryan), Jamie Lynn Vest and Emily Webster (Chris); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Nathan Hensley, Joseph McKinney, Matt Walker, Bree Walker, Grant Cochran and Cora Cochran; and his siblings, Robert Shouse (Helen) of Fayetteville and Suzanne Montgomery of Huntersville. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

If desired, memorials may be made CCDF Fire and Rescue, 1409 Dry Pond Highway, Stuart, Virginia.
