With sadness, we share the passing of Mark P. Koehler of Stuart, Virginia. Mark, born on December 15, 1953, passed away on September 22, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Wenceslaus Koehler and Mary Elizabeth "Bette" Jaeger Koehler; his brothers, Peter and Andrew Koehler; and his siblings-in-law, Jean Koehler, Grace Koehler and James Horsley.
He is survived by: his close friend Captain Steve Murray; his sons, Adam Koehler of Yorkville, IL, Benjamin Koehler of Aurora, IL and Nick Koehler (May) of Palm Harbor, FL.; his girlfriend Esther Hedgepeth; his stepsons, Joshua Ziglar, Daniel Hedgepeth of Stuart, VA, David Hedgepeth (Dawn) of Eden, NC and Gabriel Hedgepeth (Asenath) of Ruffin, NC.; his grandchildren, Jak Koehler of Palm Harbor, FL, Sebastian Koehler of Yorkville, IL, Kyra Artis of Salem, VA, Jade, Hope, Faith Hedgepeth of Stuart, VA and Karter Hedgepeth of Ruffin, NC; his siblings, Maggie Soliz (Dan) of Batavia, IL, Kate McCarty (David) of Elmhurst, IL, Jane Speranzini (Henry), Sarah Koehler of Denver, CO, Marty Koehler (Laurie) and Chanthaboune Traymany (Nongrak) of Elgin, IL; his sister-in-law Lois Horsley (Debbie Barker) of Eden, NC; Kolten Hedgepeth (Blake Howell). He is also survived by four uncles, seven aunts, twenty-seven cousins, numerous nieces and nephews and many great friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Fair Funeral Home (432 Boone Rd, Eden, NC 27288). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 29th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
