She was predeceased by: her mother Ethel Martin Ayers Hatcher; and her niece Tammy Mata. She is survived by: her husband William N. Thompson, Jr.; her great-nephew Tyler Henderson (Shannon); her sister Mildred Chatham of Myrtle Beach, SC; her nephew Tony Bowman; and her great-nieces, Heaven Leigh Dalton, Savannah Sky Bowman and Meadow Gabrielle Bowman.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stuart Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 944, Stuart, VA 24171.
