It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rose Payne Johnson of Stuarts Draft, Virginia, who passed away on December 15, 2025, at the age of 74, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband John Elek Payne; her mother Sarah Hayslett; her son Tony Johnson; and her siblings, Ernie Hayslett, Randy Higgins and Terry Higgins.
She is survived by: her sons, John Payne (Stacie) of Yorktown and Chris Payne (Toviah) of Waynesboro; her former husband Roy Lee Johnson of Stuarts Draft; her son Tim Johnson; her grandchildren, Chelsea, Cameron, Justin, Courtney, Hunter, Zach and Syilus; her great grandchildren, Leighton, Jackson and Zealand; and her siblings, Buck Hayslett, Penny Mayo, Wanda Walton, Diane Hall, Donna Dean and Debbie Gibson. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
