She was predeceased by: her parents, Linous Gatling and Alice Cross Gatling; her children, Hilda, Ruby Morings Williams, Marnell Morings and Reginald "Oukie" Morings; her siblings, Margaret Morings, Jessie Gatling, Gladys Benton, Ruth Edwards, Irene Gatling, Murry Gatling, Sr., Frederick Gatling and Grafton Gatling; and her nephew Samuel Morings, Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Mary Saunders (Joe), Frederick Morings (Tia), Samuel Morings, Sr. and Lyndon Morings (Alfreda); and her sisters, Mary Johnson of Chesapeake, VA and Luella Fitzhugh of Brooklyn. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Viewing was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Melvin J. Blowe Chapel (900 E Washington St, Suffolk, VA 23434). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, December 3rd 2025 at the Gatling Family Cemetery (219 Saunders Rd, Gates, NC 27937).
