He was predeceased by: his parents, George Lassiter and Ronnie Lassiter; his wife Aretta; and his siblings, Audrey Greene and William Lassiter.
He is survived by: his children, Emily L. Gayheart (Ricky), C. Michael Lassiter (Sharon) and W. Dale Lassiter (Veronica); his grandchildren, Amber L. Harrell (Ronnie), Christopher A. Lassiter (Mariko), Justin D. Lassiter (Chelsea), Tyler C. Gayheart, Olivia N. Lassiter and Rebecca B. Gayheart; his great grandchildren, Trinity Harrell, Naomi Harrell, Emika Lassiter and Thomas Lassiter; his sisters, Virginia Kight (Junior), Nellie Goodwin and Mary Bunch (Dallas); his pet Katie; and his caregivers, Donna, Jean, Elizabeth, Donita, Kenny and Katherine. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
