With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charlotte H. Duke of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on February 14, 2026 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Holland and Essie Holland; her spouse Shirley L. Duke; and her siblings, Ann Woods, Nancy Baines, Judy Holland, Barbara Nelms and James Holland.
She is survived by: her sister Ellen Forrest of Burlington, NC; her sons, James Clifton Duke (Barbara) of Portsmouth, VA and William Alan Duke (Laura) of Jefferson, GA; and her grandchildren, Jimmy (Katie), Hillary, Parker and Nicholas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Suffolk Meals on Wheels program.
