She is survived by: her husband H. L. Mathias, Jr.; her daughter Mary Mathias; her brothers-in-law, Lemuel Mathias and Stewart Mathias (Bessie); her nieces, Kathleen Wall (Dale), Kim Carr, Christina Bradshaw and Sara Mathias; her nephew Lee Mathias; and her great-nephews, Aiden, Declan and Brogan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Suffolk Humane Society, 412 Kings Fork Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434, or to American Bible Society, 101 N Independence Mall East FL8 Philadelphia, PA 19106-2155.
