He was predeceased by : his parents, Earl Carnahan and Freda Johnston Carnahan; and his sister Janet Brunner. He is survived by : his wife Betty L. Carnahan; his children, Michael Carnahan (Denise), Tammy Orick (David), Sandy Ketterman (John) and Norman Metz (Toni); his siblings, Carol Lamphier, Richard Carnahan, Robert Carnahan and Dennis Carnahan; and his grandchildren, Crystal, Dylan, Justin, David, Michael, Cheyanne, Donna Joe, Joshua, Autumn, Christopher, Jessica, Jennifer and Sara. He is also survived by 22 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the VFW.
