We are sad to announce that on September 28, 2025 we had to say goodbye to David Carroll Whitener Sr. (Suffolk, Virginia), born in Hickory, North Carolina. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Labon Whitener and Margurite Catherine Sigmon; his son Mark Whitener; and his grandson Brandon Lowery. He is survived by: his wife Betty Ruth Smith Whitener; his children, David Whitener Jr. (Susan), Stephen Whitener, Susan Lowery, Cheryl Mansfield (Rick) and Rus Hayslett (Carey); his grandchildren, Matthew (Darci), Daniel, Dennis, Shea, Kendall, Courtney, Chase, Tyler and Lily; and his great grandchildren, Audri, Levi, Corrine, Bennett, Quinn and Blake.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 12th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Bliley's-Chippenham (6900 Hull St Rd, Richmond, VA 23224). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 24th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
