He was predeceased by: his parents, Delmar Spivey and Eva Spivey; his significant other Connie Truitt; and his son-in-law Alan Polson. He is survived by: his daughters, Teresa Gardner (Lorain), Debi Brooks (Rickey) of Suffolk and Beth Polson (Lee Joyner) of Aulander, NC; his siblings, Darlene Wilkins (Pete) of Suffolk and Brian Spivey (Elaine) of Carrsville; his grandchildren, Kristina Stancil (Jonathan), Meagan Barnes, Brittany Portlock (J. D.), Kelsi Polson, Shayne Brooks, Kierstyn Polson and Brandyn Polson; his great grandchildren, Jack Stancil and Camden Portlock; and his pet Molly. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
