She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Dawson and Mattie Carawan; her husband Alfred Lee Gibbs; and her great grandchild Noah James. She is survived by: her daughters, Alfreda Fleming and Mary Leigh Howell (Frank); her grandchildren, Crystal (John), Shannon (Mark), Lauren (Paul) and Ashley (Joshua); her great grandchildren, Christopher, Carson, Aiden, Raelyn and Luke; and her sister Hannah Dawson Pierce.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 15th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 1835 Cotton Farm Ln, Suffolk, VA 23432.
