He was predeceased by: his parents, Isaac Newman Piland and Gladys Iantha Pulley Piland; and his siblings, Martha Bell, Sue Hancock, Anne Wright, Joseph Piland and Thomas Piland.
He is survived by: his wife Barbara "Bobbie" Lee Pierce Piland; his daughter Mona Lynn Piland; and his granddaughters, Carolyn "Calee" Rawls and Gabrielle "Gaby" Rawls. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
