He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Merle Cofield Groves and John Eldridge Groves, Sr.; his nephew Tommy; his wife Judy A. Groves; his sons, Gene E. Groves Jr. (Jennifer), Jamie I. Groves (Jennifer) and Christopher Tenorio; his grandchildren, Anni, Grayson, Preston, Malli and Leni; his siblings, Darlene Woods (Pete), Kenny Groves (Jeannie) and Jay Groves; and his nieces, Jennifer, Melissa and Angela.
