He was predeceased by: his parents, George Ernest Degaraff and Alda Voghell Degaraff; his son George Ernest Degaraff; and his siblings, Irene (Jerry Duval), Yvonne (Henry MacDonald) and Marcel (Maureen Degaraff).
He is survived by: his wife Pauline; his children, Denise Peters (late Norman), Paul Degaraff (Stacey), John Degaraff (Beth), Mark Degaraff (Bridget), Michele Ripley (Scott), Marie Paul (Rich) and James Degaraff (Melissa); and his sister Therese McDonald. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 26 nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the R. W. Baker & Company Funeral Home & Crematory, North Suffolk Chapel (5685 Lee Farm Ln, Suffolk, VA 23435). A reception will be held on Sunday, September 27th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
