He was predeceased by: his mother Marjorie Stewart; and his brother John R. Miller. He is survived by: his wife Jan Marie Vick Miller; his sons, Douglas Allan Miller (Louann) and Nicholas James Miller (Rhonda); and his sister Marjorie M. Pool (Larry). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
