We are sad to announce that, on May 9, 2023, at the age of 83, Hugh Dewitt Byrd Sr. (Suffolk, Virginia), born in Erwin, North Carolina passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Roosevelt Byrd and Eula Knowles Byrd. He is survived by: his wife Helen Pamela Moore Byrd; his children, Cynthia Byrd Baker and Hugh "Bubba" Dewitt Byrd, Jr. (Caroline); his grandchildren, Ann Marie Longley, Christina B. Drumheller (Wes), Jaimie B. Channell (Corey) and Richard A. Baker, Jr.; his great grandchildren, Joshua, Cody, Bradley, Brandon, MaKenzie, Andrew, Roman, Riley, Avery and Landon; and his nephew Roger C. Groth.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children.
