She was predeceased by: her husband Hugh Warren Carpenter; her daughter Claudia Groves; her son-in-law Allan Groves; her granddaughter Jennifer Duncan; her great grandchild Shawn Bell; her parents, Annie DeBaun Neill and Oscar Smith DeBaun; and her siblings, Wilbur DeBaun, Audry Venuto, Jeanette DeBaun and Renee Humphries.

She is survived by: her daughters, Nora Atkins (Bob), Amy Carpenter, Ann Spanagel (John), Peggy Campbell (Robert), Susan Braman (Craig) and Becky Moulden (Jeff); and her sister Carolyn Winfrey.
