She was predeceased by: her parents, Elmer Duke Whedbee, Sr. and Marietta Hayes Whedbee; her husband Frank Rufus Copeland; her siblings, Mary Eleanor Whedbee and Elmer Duke Whedbee, Jr.; and her great grandchild Micah Raines Simonsen, Jr..
She is survived by: her daughters, Laura Matheson Beasley (Clarence Wood Beasley III) of Colerain, NC, Beth Matheson Bryant (Michael Wayne Bryant) of Ahoskie, NC and Kim Matheson Worrell (Steven Woodrow Worrell) of Greensboro, NC.; her grandchildren, Clarence Wood Beasley IV, Fletcher Matheson Beasley, Hayes Bryant Simonsen, Jacqueline Miller Bryant, Steven Woodrow Worrell Jr. and Matheson Greenwood Worrell; and her siblings-in-law, Rudolph Copeland and Beverly Copeland of Suffolk, VA.. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
