He was predeceased by: his wife Evelyn Cook of Virginia; his parents, Helen E. Cook and Lyle J. Cook; his sister Lila L. Cook-Raul; and his son Roy Cook.
He is survived by: his sons, Lyle Cook (Ann) of Gloucester and James Alonzo Cook, Jr. (Katrina) of Suffolk; and his brother Roy Brown (Shirley) of Mt. Vernon, IL. He is also survived by three grandchildren.
