He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Christopher and Georgia Joanna Strickland; his wife Deborah L. Strickland; his children, Charles Christopher Strickland (Allyson Yost), Elizabeth Snellinger (Zacherie Lay) and Rebecca Godfrey (Randall Godfrey); his grandchildren, Dylan Yost, Riley Godfrey and Ella Snellinger; and his siblings, Janis Babbitt (Fred), Joanna Ray (Pete) and Brian Zartman.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in his name to Suffolk Animal Care of Suffolk.
