With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Jesse Edward Sykes of Suffolk, Virginia, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, who passed away on February 14, 2021 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sykes Sr. and Betty Anderson Sykes; and his brother Charles "Chuck" Sykes, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Mary Elizabeth Sykes; his daughter Chrystal Lynn Sykes; his stepdaughter Michelle Lynn Reynolds (David); and his grandchildren, Jessica Rubinstein (Ari), Christopher Adams, Megan Sanchez (Russell, Jr.), Rebecca Reynolds (Beau Theall) and David Reynolds, Jr..

In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the Wilroy Baptist Church food pantry.
