With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Kent Andrew Kussmaul in Suffolk, Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 3, 2025 at the age of 61. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Gustave Kussmaul and Ruth Kussmaul; and his brother Tony Albert. He is survived by: his sons, Brett McGary and Brandon Kussmaul; his grandsons, Preston, Maxwell and Ryder; his significant other Christi Fortenberry; his partner's child Khandice Dao; his former wife Lisa Kussmaul; and his sister Linda Apostolakos.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages friends to honor Kent by spending time outdoors, cherishing loved ones, or raising a glass in his memory.
