It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laverne Johnson (Suffolk, Virginia), who passed away on July 1, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Johnson and Caretha Johnson; his daughter Barbara Ann; and his siblings, Everett, Martin, Sam, Betty and Geraldine.
He is survived by: his stepmother Gertrude Johnson; his daughters, Cynthia (Percy), Deborah (David) and Ellen (Kevin); his wife Helen; his sister Mary E. Rosa; his brother-in-law Teddy (Joan); and his grandchildren, Nakia, Jamel, Tracey (Marty), Christopher, Cameron (Diamond), David Jr. and Barbara (Christopher). He is also survived by twenty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
