It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mae C. Brodie of Suffolk, Virginia, who passed away on May 19, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul Bryant Sr. and Ada Hayslett Bryant; her husband Joseph Clifton Brodie; her siblings, James Felmer Bryant, Harry H. Bryant, Paul Bryant Jr., William H. Bryant, Leroy Bryant Sr., Clarence Bryant, Runnie Eason, Mildred Brinkley and Rosa Ballard; and her children, Fred E. Ballard Jr. and Wanda Morgan.

She is survived by: her children, Amelia Ballard, Jennifer Baker of Suffolk, VA and Tyrone Ballard; her grandchildren, Dexter Ballard Vacaville (Clara) of California, Ronald Ingram of Suffolk, VA, Vernon Ballard, Gates of North Carolina, Varain Ballard Gates North (Alisha), Brandon Kyle Morgan of Suffolk, VA, Tara Britt (Franco), Brandy and Yovonda Kolo (Johnathan); her great grandchildren, DaMarco Britt and Lazaria Jennings; and her niece Michelle Ballard.
