She was predeceased by : her parents, Willie Herbert and Mary Elizabeth Mayfield; her husband William J Peoples Jr.; her brother Thomas Cobb; and her sons, William and Adrian Peoples.

She is survived by : her daughter Mary Adell Peoples; her grandson Darrain Jr. (Lil Soul); her children, Victor, Darrain, Chris and Shirelle Jordan; her siblings, JoAnn White (James), Herman Mayfield (Cornelia), Donald Mayfield (Marchelle), Keith Mayfield Sr. and Kevin Mayfield (Charlene); her sisters-in-law, Vivian, Evelyn (Fredrick) and Sandra; her close friends, Willie Eason, Margie White, Judy Drayton and Beverly Elner; and her sisters, Joyce Hale, Barbara Boone and Mona Jones. She is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
