She is survived by: her son Marty Garris (Gloria); her stepson Ronald Jackson (NC); her grandchildren, Jessica Joseph (Shamir) and Asia Garris (NY); her great grandchildren, Imani Joseph and Nolani Joseph (FL); and her sibling's children, Essie Edwards (Phillip), Mazie Blount (Alvin), Marcella Elliot (FL), Joan Vinson (NC), Millie Smith (NY), Demetrius Bernard (VA), Willie Smith, Jr. (NY) and Elijah Vinson (NY). She is also survived by great nieces, nephews.
