We announce the death of Nell Worrell Williams (Suffolk, Virginia), who passed away on July 4, 2026, at the age of 100. Nell will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel James "Sammy Jim" and Mary Jane Holland Worrell; her husband Elbert P. Williams; and her daughter-in-law Sarah Alwood Williams. She is survived by: her children, Becki Williams of Suffolk, Nelson Williams (Rosemary Lunsford) of Raleigh, NC, Mary Murden (Eddy) of Chester, VA and Phil Williams (Georgia) of Pendleton, NC.; her grandsons, Sam Williams of Durham, NC, David Williams (Jaleh Amo Abedini) of Raleigh, NC, Lucas Williams (Emma) of Pendleton, NC, Patrick Williams (Kiera) of Raleigh, NC and Parker Williams (Callie) of Yale, VA; and her great grandchildren, Olivia, George, Nala and Audie.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association (heart.org) or the National Audubon Society (act.audubon.org) in her memory.
