He is survived by: his children, Troy Merritt, Sue Merritt Blei, Mark Merritt, Kevin Merritt and Sheila Merritt; and his brother Caswell Merritt (Sherri). He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery (5310 Milners Rd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
